Macroscopic Dynamical Fluctuations in Kac Ring Model

چکیده

We study dynamical fluctuations in the macroscopic paths around most probable path of Kac ring model, which is a simple deterministic and reversible system exhibiting irreversible relaxation. derive form generating function for show that small deviations are described by discrete-time Ornstein–Uhlenbeck process. also argue microscopic reversibility leads to fluctuation relation rate function, prove it based on function.

An extension of the Kac ring model

We introduce a unitary dynamics for quantum spins which is an extension of a model introduced by Mark Kac to clarify the phenomenon of relaxation to equilibrium. When the number of spins gets very large, the magnetization satisfies an autonomous equation as function of time with exponentially fast relaxation to the equilibrium magnetization as determined by the microcanonical ensemble. This is ...

Macroscopic limit of a solvable dynamical model.

The interaction between an ultrarelativistic particle and a linear array made up of N two-level systems (“AgBr” molecules) is studied by making use of a modified version of the Coleman-Hepp Hamiltonian. Energy-exchange processes between the particle and the molecules are properly taken into account, and the evolution of the total system is calculated exactly both when the array is initially in ...

A Generalized Kac Model as a Dynamical System*

Here cp denotes the phase of the complex interaction parameter k, and crt= ± 1 stands for the spin variable at site i. The interaction energy between two sites at distance x decays exponentially with x but now with an oscillating amplitude of wavelength In/cp. This oscillation mimics the effect of the indirect exchange interaction between spins mediated by electrons that leads in realistic mode...

Dynamical percolation model of conductance fluctuations in hydrogenated amorphous silicon.

Conductance fluctuations in hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) are simulated using a dynamical model of resistor diffusion on a lattice held at the percolation threshold. A fraction of lattice sites is designated as a trap, such that when a resistor diffuses onto that site it remains localized for a finite period of time. When a distribution of traps based on the defect density of a-Si:H i...

Macroscopic superposition states in rotating ring lattices

We investigate the effects of rotation on one-dimensional ultracold bosons confined to optical ring lattices. First, we show that there exists a critical rotation frequency at which the ground state of a weakly-interacting and integer-filled atomic gas is fragmented into a macroscopic superposition state with different circulation. Second, we point out several advantages of using slightly non-u...
